Location & activities

The Syenn Venn is an extensive moor and grassland area in the southwest of the district of Grafschaft Bentheim. The area lies between Bad Bentheim and Nordhorn. Due to its central location, it is only a stone's throw to the nearest cities and the Netherlands.

The county is known for being bike-friendly and offers beautiful trails all the way to the Netherlands.

Discover castles, mills and courtyards, and learn more about people, landscape, nature and culture, from the famous Bentheim sandstone to the art trail station.

In just a few minutes by car you can reach a variety of opportunities to spend your free time. Canoeing on the beautiful Vechte, the famous rock and pop museum, which was created by Udo Lindenberg, Bad Bentheim Castle, mini golf, the well-known "Index" discotheque, museums, outdoor pools, lakes, the Bentheim mineral springs and much more.

The Dutch border is not far, just 600 m and you are right in the middle of the action of our Dutch neighbors.

The art village in Oortmasum is an experience for art lovers. The market in Enschede or the garden center Osteriiik are definitely worth a visit. The beautiful city of Amsterdam, with the famous Anne Frank Museum, is easy to reach via the easily accessible motorway. It's worth a visit !
